At Foresite Capital, Vishal is a member of the investment team and focuses on evaluating investment opportunities in biotech companies.
Vishal comes to Foresite from Kinnate Biopharma, where as Director of Discovery Biology, he led early discovery and development of small molecule Oncology therapeutics. Prior to Kinnate, Vishal worked at Biosplice Therapeutics as Director of Biology, where he managed programs in several therapeutic areas including Oncology, Musculoskeletal and Dermatology, contributing to multiple IND submissions and a Phase 3 study. Prior to Biosplice, Vishal was a Visiting Scientist at the California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr) and the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF), where he worked on small molecule and biologics discovery and development. Vishal received his Ph.D. in Biology from The Scripps Research Institute, where he worked in the lab of Dr. Peter Schultz, and was a California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) graduate research follow. Vishal holds an M.S. in Biotechnology from UC Irvine and B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.
